Any way, last Wednesday we went trap lining, but instead of going home after we were finish we walked down to the greeting of the kiwi chicks.

 While we were waiting and during the Maori greeting the occasional "laugh" would come from one members of the two pair group of mallard wandering around everybody's feet.

 After the greeting and songs were done the people were asked to form two lines in front of the jetty. Some of the resident ducks thought it was for them.





 The Mandarin Duck is well. I have recently started to experiment more with my manual mode. I was pleased with the result of his coloring.
 They were taken under the wooden jetty at the main car park.
